The Los Angeles Lakers will host the Oklahoma City Thunder in both teams last game before the All Star break. The Lakers have lost two in a row and nine of their last 11, while the Thunder have won four of their last five.
The Lakers are tough to watch simply because of all of their injuries. It seems like every player on their roster is banged up in one way or another and now Steve Blake and Steve Nash, guys who just returned from injuries, are questionable for this game. The scoring options are limited and a defense that allows 105.6 points a game is getting worse by the week. The Lakers have lost five of their last seven games even when they score 100 or more points. They are 27-24-1 ATS this season and 11-11 ATS at home.

The Thunder continue to cruise along as one of the hottest teams in the league. In just their last five games, they’re shooting 49.2 percent from the field and holding teams to just 43.2 percent shooting. Both sides of the ball are playing at an elite level and Kevin Durant continues to perform like the MVP front-runner. Oklahoma City is now 17-6 SU in the year 2014. Against the spread, it is 32-22 overall and 17-11 on the road.
I always hate laying a big number on a road favorite, but the Lakers give us absolutely no choice. They have an entire roster of banged up bodies and play absolutely no defense. In the previous meeting between these two teams the Thunder dropped 122 points on 47.5 percent shooting.
Oklahoma City is 7-1 ATS in its last eight games against Western Conference teams and is 5-2-1 ATS in its last eight meetings against the Lakers. Not to mention it has won six of the last seven meetings SU.
I’m taking the Thunder and the truckload of chalk by default.
