The Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks will meet for the second and final time during the regular season Tuesday night. The Heat won the previous meeting 110-104 back in early November in Miami.
The Heat have been on the road for quite some time, not playing a home game since February 3rd. They’ve handled it well, winning four of their last five road games and shooting 48.7 percent from the field in their last five contests. Defensively, they’ve allowed 101.8 points in their last five games. Miami is also expected to have Dwyane Wade back for this game considering he participated during the All-Star Game. The Heat are 22-28-1 ATS overall and 14-12-1 ATS on the road.

The Mavericks have been one of the hotter teams in the league, winning six of their last seven games. During that stretch, they’re averaging 97 points on 45.2 percent shooting and holding opponents to 91 points on 42.9 percent shooting. They’ve also averaged more than 41 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Dallas has allowed only one 100-point performance in its last five games. The Mavs are 31-23 ATS overall and 12-14 ATS at home.
If you’ve been following along, you know that I always take the Heat when the line is below three points. Well, here you are. Sure, the Mavs have been hot lately, but wins against Cleveland, Utah and Boston aren’t enough to make me jump on the bandwagon. They’re still one of the worst defensive teams in the league and will have their hands full against a rested up Miami squad.
The Heat are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games against teams with a winning SU record and are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 matchups taking place in Dallas.
Give me the defending champs and the small chalk.
