The Miami Heat will have their work cut out for them on Thursday, when the Heat travels to OKC to face off against the Thunder.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are currently atop the Northwest division, having a solid record of 43-12 so far on the season. The Thunder are in the top ten in both scoring offense, and scoring defense this season, as well as ranking fifth in the league in rebounds. Kevin Durant is having an outstanding season for the Thunder, as Durant is putting up an average of 31.5 points per game. Oklahoma City has won three straight games heading into this meeting with the Heat, with their latest win coming last Thursday against the Lakers in Los Angeles, defeating L.A. 107-103.

The Miami Heat are once again cruising through the regular season, as the Heat are 38-14 at this point of the season, and Miami holds a 13 game lead in the division over the Washington Wizards. Miami’s only real weakness this season has been on the boards, where the Heat are ranked 30th in the league, grabbing just 36.6 rebounds per game. I wouldn’t worry about this too much however, as the Heat always turn it on come playoff time. Miami’s last outing was a win against the Mavs on Tuesday in Dallas, defeating the Mavericks 117-106, with James leading the way with 42 points and nine boards.
Miami is 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four games against a team with a winning record, and the Heat are 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four games on the road when facing a team with a winning record.
The Thunder are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine games against teams with winning records, and the Thunder are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games following an ATS loss.
The Thunder are by far the more rested team, and while I never like betting against Miami, Oklahoma City has all the advantages here. OKC is always tough at home, and having all this time after the break to rest and prepare, OKC will be looking to knock off King James and company after the Heat had a big win on Tuesday against the Mavs.
