The New York Knicks will continue their four-game road trip with a game against the Orlando Magic. These teams have played each other twice already this season, and New York has won both.
The Knicks recently snapped a three-game losing streak with a 98-91 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. That was their second straight game without allowing 100 points, as it’s now been the case in four of their last six. Still, they have to prove they can win on the road, as they’ve lost five of their last six road games. Away from home, they average 95.7 points on 44.1 percent shooting, while allowing 97.7 points on 46 percent shooting. They are 23-31 ATS overall and 13-11 ATS on the road.
The Magic have lost three straight, but do return home where they’ve won five of their last six games. At home they shoot 46 percent from the field and average 100 points and the defense holds opponents to 100.4 points on 45.2 percent shooting. Still, overall, they remain one of the worst offensive teams in the league, averaging just 94 points on 43.6 percent shooting in their last five games. They’ve failed to score 100 points in three of their last four games. They are 23-33 ATS overall and 14-14 ATS at home.
There’s really no reason to pick against the Knicks with the line being what it is. Sure, they haven’t lived up to potential and Iman Shumpert and Amar’e Stoudemire may not play due to injuries. However, they’re still the more talented team and have won the last eight games against the Magic. Orlando hasn’t beaten New York since January of 2012.
The Knicks are 8-0 ATS in their last eight meetings against the Magic.
New York needs every win it can get at the moment and should be able to beat one of the worst teams in the league.
