The Washington Wizards will play a back-to-back when they go on the road to face the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday afternoon. This is the fourth and final meeting between the two teams this season, and the Cavs lead the series 2-1.
The Wizards beat the New Orleans Pelicans 94-93 on Saturday to win their second straight game. Despite turning the ball over 17 times, they shot 48.6 percent from the field and received 30 points from Nene Hilario. They are now averaging 100.2 points and allowing 97.8 points in their last five games. On the road, they’re averaging 98.1 points and allowing 99.1 points. They are 30-24 ATS overall and 19-8 ATS on the road.

The Cavs recently had their six-game winning streak snapped by the Toronto Raptors. In the loss, they turned the ball over 14 times and shot just 39 percent from the field. Still, they’re playing some of their best basketball of the season, averaging 101.6 points and allowing just 92.8 points on 40.6 percent shooting in their last five games. At home, they score 98.4 points and allow 98.3 points. They are 26-30 ATS overall and 15-12 ATS at home.
Although Washington will be playing on short rest, you have to like the Wizards in a pick’em game. They’re more efficient offensively, better defensively and have more to play for with them battling for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
The Wizards are 6-0 ATS in their last six road games against teams with a winning home record and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. They’re also 9-5 ATS playing on zero days’ rest.
The Cavs have been money recently, covering in seven straight games. But when it’s a pick’em, you’d be wise to go with the better overall team.
I’ll take Washington.
