The Detroit Pistons and San Antonio Spurs will play their second and final meeting this season. The Pistons won the previous matchup this month, 109-100.
Since that win, the Pistons have lost five of their last six games. They’re averaging 101.4 points on 44.7 percent shooting and allowing 109.6 points on 48.7 percent shooting during that stretch. Their free throw percentage has dropped to 60 percent as well. They’ve allowed 100 or more points in seven of their last nine games. On the road, they average 99.8 points and allow 102.8 points. They are 24-32-1 ATS overall and 11-13-1 ATS on the road.

The Spurs are winners in four of their last six games and haven’t played a game since Friday. As they continue to regroup and bring players back from injury, they’re averaging 102.6 points and allowing 103.8 points in their last five games. It’s not very often you see a Spurs defense allow 100 or more points in seven of their last eight games. That could change with defensive stopper Kawhi Leonard expected to return to the team after missing a month with a hand injury. The Spurs average 104.2 points and allow 97.9 points on their home court. They’re also 27-29 ATS overall and 10-16 ATS at home.
It’s been tough to back the Spurs recently with all of their injuries, but they’re starting to get healthy again and have had several days off. A rested Spurs team is a dangerous Spurs team, especially if Leonard is able to go in this one.
The Pistons just haven’t able to stop anybody defensively, which isn’t a good sign against a San Antonio team that shoots nearly 50 percent at home.
The home team is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between these two teams.
I like the Spurs to win by double digits.
