The Denver Nuggets hope to snap a long losing streak when they host the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. It will be the third of four scheduled meetings this season, and the Nuggets won the previous two matchups.
The Mavericks have lost their last two games after winning four straight. In their last five matchups, they’re averaging 105.6 points on 46.9 percent shooting and are giving up 102.2 points on 49.7 percent shooting. Although they’ve scored more than 100 points in six of their last seven games, they’ve allowed more than 100 points in six of their last seven games. On the road, they average 102.1 points and allow 101.8 points. They are 34-27 ATS overall and 21-11 ATS on the road.

The Nuggets have lost six straight games and seem to have given up all hope on sniffing the playoffs. During their losing streak, they’re averaging 100.6 points on 40.8 percent shooting and are allowing 111 points on 45.1 percent shooting. Since January 26th, there’s only been one game where the Nuggets haven’t allowed 100 or more points to an opponent. At home, the Nuggets average 103.2 points and allow 103.4 points. They are 25-34 ATS overall and 11-19 ATS on their home court.
This spread is awfully low for the direction both teams are heading. Sure, Denver has beaten Dallas SU in four of the last five meetings, but we’re talking about one of the best offensive teams in the Mavericks going up against a defensive nightmare in the Nuggets. This game is a horrible matchup for the home team.
The Mavs are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against the Western Conference, and they’re also 6-0 ATS in their last six meetings in Denver.
Yeah, I’ll take Dallas and the small chalk.
