The Portland Trail Blazers play host to the Atlanta Hawks at the Moda Center on Monday night.

The Atlanta Hawks have been in decent shape as they’ve won six of their last nine games overall, but they will be looking to bounce back in this one after coming up short against the Clippers in a 120-113 loss on Saturday. Trae Young led the team with 31 points and 10 assists, John Collins added 16 points while Dejounte Murray chipped in with 15 points, six rebounds and eight assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 47 percent from the field and seven of 27 from the 3-point line, but they were poor defensively, particularly on the perimeter and the Clippers scorched them with 19 3-pointers.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in rough shape as they’ve lost nine of their last 13 games overall and they will be hoping for a better performance after getting routed by the Raptors in a 123-105 loss on Saturday. Damian Lillard led the team with 30 points on 10 of 20 shooting, Jerami Grant added 26 points with eight rebounds and three assists while Anfernee Simons chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 52 percent from the field and seven of 24 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to cut an early 23-point deficit to just four points, only to allow the Raptors to finish with a flurry to lose big in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hawks are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on one days’ rest. The Trail Blazers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a loss, 7-2 ATS in their last nine games following a loss of more than 10 points and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings in Portland, the Hawks are 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings in Portland and the Hawks are 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.

The Hawks could be a little shorthanded here as Trae Young is currently listed as day to day on the injury report, while the Trail Blazers are keeping eyes on Jusuf Nurkic and Josh Hart who are both questionable for this one. The Hawks could do with a win to get back on track after falling to the Clippers in their last outing and I think they can get it done against this slumping Trail Blazers who are dealing with all the trade rumors swirling around.
