The Denver Nuggets play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Ball Arena on Monday night in NBA action.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been on a tear lately as they’ve won six of their last seven games overall and they will be eager to build on their five-game win streak after outlasting the Kings in a 136-134 road win on Saturday. LeBron James led the team with 37 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, Thomas Bryant added 29 points on 12 of 14 shooting, Dennis Schroder scored 27 points on eight of 11 shooting while Russell Westbrook tallied 23 points with 15 assists off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot a sizzling 61 percent from the field and nine of 21 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Kings in a free-flowing shootout, before escaping on free throws in a close game that could’ve gone either way.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have been in great form as they’ve won 12 of their last 15 games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after routing the Cavaliers in a 121-108 home win on Friday. Nikola Jokic led the way with a triple-double of 28 points with 15 rebounds and 10 assists, Jamal Murray added 18 points while Michael Porter Jr. chipped in with 17 points and eight rebounds. As a team, the Nuggets shot 53 percent from the field and a sizzling 17 of 35 from the 3-point line as they poured in 36 points in the second quarter to overcome a slow start and take the lead into halftime, before they went on another run in the third quarter to push the lead out to 17 points at one stage.

Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 4-13-1 ATS in their last 18 games against a team with a winning record and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall. The Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games following a win of more than 10 points and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the over is 16-5 in the last 21 meetings in Denver and the Lakers are 1-4-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Denver.

The Lakers are shorthanded again as Anthony Davis, Lonnie Walker and Austin Reaves are all out and Troy Brown Jr is questionable, while the Nuggets have ruled out Jeff Green and Peyton Watson again. The Lakers have managed to play some of their best basketball of the season despite being hit hard by injuries, but they will face a stiff test in this one as the Nuggets have been on fire and they have won 16 of their 19 home games this season. The Lakers are only 1-4-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Denver, so I’ll back the Nuggets to stay hot with another win and cover here.
