The Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets will play Friday night in what should be one of the best NBA games on the schedule. This is the second and final regular season meeting, as the Pacers won 114-81 back in December.
The Pacers have lost two games in a row and look a little disinterested. Their defense has also been slipping as of late, as they’re allowing 98.2 points, 45.5 percent shooting from the field and 45.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc in their last five games. Those numbers are way off from their season averages. Offensively, David West has scored 25 or more points in two of his last three games. On the road, the Pacers average 97.4 points and allow 97 points. They are 33-27-1 ATS overall and 14-14 ATS on the road.

The Rockets have won five of their last six games and are starting to put some serious pressure on the Spurs in the Southwest division. In their last five games, they’re averaging 109.4 points on 50.1 percent shooting and are allowing 101.2 points on 44.3 percent shooting. Dwight Howard has produced a double-double in four of his last five starts, and the Rockets have scored 100-plus points in 12 of their last 14 games. At home, they average 106.9 points and allow 99 points. They are 32-27-2 ATS overall and 16-13-2 ATS at home.
The spread on this game a little off, as Indiana is the more balanced team and has covered the number in four straight meetings against the Rockets. Not only have the Pacers dominated the series as of late, but they’re also 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games against the Southwest division.
With the game being nationally televised and the Pacers coming off a loss to the Bobcats, this is a game where Indiana digs deep and redeems itself.
I see a SU win, but I’ll happily take the points.
