The New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers will play back-to-back games when they meet Saturday. These teams have already played twice this season and have split those games.
Believe it or not, but the Knicks have now snapped their seven-game losing streak with two straight wins. Their most recent victory came Friday night against the Utah Jazz. They played like a talented team for once, shooting 49.4 percent from the field and knocking down 12 threes. Four of their five starters scored in double figures, and 24 of their 42 made baskets came off assists. On the road this season, the Knicks average 96.3 points and allow 100 points. They are 25-37 ATS overall and 14-16 ATS on the road.

The Cavs have lost three straight games and six of their last eight. Their most recent loss came Friday night against the Charlotte Bobcats. In the loss, they made just three of 17 three-point attempts and allowed the Bobcats to shoot 46.8 percent from the field. They’ve now allowed four 100-point performances in their last five games, but have failed to score 100 in six of their last eight. At home, the Cavs average 97.8 points and allow 98.4 points. They are 28-34 ATS and 16-15 ATS at home.
The Knicks have covered only one game in their last five and are 0-7 ATS in their last seven against the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Cavs are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against teams with a losing SU record and 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games against the Knicks.
While the trends lean the Cavs, I just can’t turn down the free points the Knicks are getting. The Cavs are a bad team that is quickly sinking, while the Knicks are in desperation mode and still are a talented team regardless of what the media will tell you.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Knicks won SU, but take the points just to be safe.
