The Philadelphia 76ers square off against the visiting Utah Jazz on Saturday night.
Head to head, the home team is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings. The 76ers are 5-21 ATS in their last 26 home games, 6-20 ATS in their last 26 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 16-36 ATS in their last 52 games overall. The Jazz on the other hand are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 0 days rest, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. Eastern Conference.
You have to consider the over whenever the Philadelphia 76ers are involved, given their troubles on the defensive end. The league's worst team and losers of 15 straight, the 76ers are giving up an average of 111 points per game this season. Just think about for a second. If Philly holds a team to say 108 points, that's probably considered good in their books. While they are no where near the offensive team they were at the start of the season, they are still averaging 103.7 points during their last four home games, which isn't bad.
The Utah Jazz haven't been scoring well during their road trip thus far, averaging a measly 87.2 points over their four games. In their defence, they have played teams such as Cleveland and Indiana, but their 88-point performance in Milwaukee can't be excused. It wasn't that long ago that Utah was regularly putting up 100-105 points per contest, so we know they are capable of scoring when given the chance.
What better way for the Jazz to break out of their offensive slump than coming up against the worst defensive team we have seen for some while. Philly has given up 122 points or greater in four of their last six and six of their last 10 games overall. I don't think I would bet on in, but the over is my pick here..
