The Denver Nuggets will begin a five-game road trip when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans. This will be the third of four scheduled meetings this season, as the previous two were split.
After losing six straight, the Nuggets have now won two consecutive games. However, it took 115 and 134 points to get those victories due to the lack of defense they play. They’re allowing 105.6 points on the season, but that average has been bumped up to 116.4 points in their last five games. Offensively, they’ve only scored 100 or more points in three of their last eight games. On the road, they average 102 points and allow 106.9 points. They are 26-35 ATS overall and 14-15 ATS on the road.

The Pelicans have snapped an eight-game losing streak with two consecutive wins. That’s not the only thing they have in common with the Nuggets, as they’re also struggling on the defensive end. In their last five games, they’re allowing teams to score 109.8 points on 49.4 percent shooting. Offensively, Anthony Davis has scored 28 or more points and grabbed double-digit rebounds in his last two games. At home, the Pelicans average 100.7 points and allow 99.6 points. They are 26-32-4 ATS overall and 14-13-1 ATS on their home court.
The home team is 7-0 ATS in the last seven meetings between these two teams, while the favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last five.
The Pelicans are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against teams with a losing road record. However, the Nuggets are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games following at least a 125-point performance.
When you factor in everything, you have to like the Pelicans at home. The Nuggets play absolutely no defense, and Davis and company should take advantage of that down low and do enough to cover the small number.
