The Denver Nuggets head to Miami on Friday to face off against the Miami Heat.
The Miami Heat have already locked up their playoff spot in the East, but let’s be honest, there never was any doubt that this team would be in the playoffs again this year. Miami is currently in second place in the East, trailing the Pacers by just two games at this point. Honestly, I don’t think it matters much to this Miami team whether or not they are in first or second once the playoffs start, they just want to be healthy. In Miami’s last outing, the Heat fell to the Nets in Brooklyn 96-95 on Wednesday night.

The Denver Nuggets are having a disappointing season this year, and it looks as though Denver will have to watch the playoffs from home this season. The Nuggets are just 28-36 on the season and currently Denver is in the 11th spot in the West. The Nuggets can put up points, but their defense has been horrible this season, ranking 28th in the league, allowing 105.7 points per outing. Denver earned a win in their last outing, but still the Nuggets have dropped two out of their last three heading into this meeting with the Heat.
Denver is just 3-7 against the spread in their last ten games, and the Nuggets are just 5-13 against the spread in their last 18 games overall. Denver is also just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games on the road, when their opponent has a winning record at home.
The Miami Heat is 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six home games, and the Heat is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games following a loss. Miami is just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall.
This is a ton of points, but I have to take Miami here. The Heat will be looking to get back into the win column after falling to Brooklyn in their last outing, and I don’t see them pulling any punches here against a much weaker Denver squad.
