Whenever I see the Los Angeles Clippers are playing I automatically think to take the over, which is exactly what I’m doing here. Having said that, my reasoning has more to do with the home team Utah Jazz than anything else. It does help that the Clippers are the leagues premier offensive unit, but ill touch on that later. Let’s have a look at Utah last seven games at EnergySolutions Arena shall we. Here are their totals going from most recent to last: 209, 222, 195, 208, 225, 204 and 205. So as you can see, nearly everyone of those games went over tonight’s total of 205.5 and that 195 point game was when they held a Phoenix squad minus Goran Dragic to just 86 points. It’s no surprise that the over went 6-1 in those seven.
While the Los Angeles Clippers have played in their fair share of ‘unders’ recently, it doesn’t really have much to do with them as they have averaged 114 points over their last six games. Because the over/under lines have been set so high for their home games lately, they have been falling just short as their last three have all missed by no more than two buckets. The over is still 5-1 in their last six road games.
While their two meetings this season have both gone under, I’m not too concerned because both games were in Los Angeles. Utah is much better when playing at home, as evidenced in their last game against the Dallas Mavericks. They played in Dallas twice this season and both games went under. In their game in Utah on Wednesday against the Mavs, the game went over with a couple of minutes to spare...
