The Phoenix Suns head to Brooklyn on Monday night to face off against the Nets.
The Brooklyn Nets are currently 33-31 this season, and the Nets hold the fifth spot in the East at this time. The Nets started off pretty sluggish this season, but Brooklyn has really turned it on after the break, and now, barring any kind of major collapse, the Nets are playoff bound. Brooklyn has played well as of late, with the Nets winning three out of their last four heading into this meeting, with their last win coming on Saturday, defeating the Wizards 101-94 in Washington.

The Phoenix Suns are currently ten games above the .500 mark on the season, with a solid record of 38-28. The Suns however do play in the West, and that record right now isn’t good enough to get Phoenix into the post season as the Nets trail the Mavs by two games for the final playoff position. Phoenix has one of the more dynamic offenses in the league, but the defense has let them down at times this season. The Suns have won back to back games heading into this meeting with the Nets, and a getting a win against Brooklyn would give the Suns a three game sweep on this road trip.
Phoenix is 5-0 against the spread in their last five Monday games, and the Suns are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games overall. The Suns are also 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games following an outright win.
The Nets are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games, following a loss, and the Nets are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven home games.
Tough call here, but I’ll take the points with the Suns. The Nets are solid, but Phoenix is the better team, and while it won’t be easy, I think the Suns should win this one outright. To play it safe I’ll just take the points however.
