For the third and final time this season, the Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets will play against one another. The Rockets won the first meeting in November, while the Jazz won the most recent meeting in December.
The Jazz lost Sunday, 1022-104 to the San Antonio Spurs, which was Utah’s fourth straight loss and ninth loss in its last 10 games. Although the Jazz have improved their offense as of late, scoring 100-plus points in four of their last five games, Utah isn’t getting stops defensively. In their last five games, the Jazz are allowing 106 points on 52.2 percent shooting in their last five games. Center Derrick Favors scored a career-high 28 points in the loss to the Spurs. The Jazz are 29-34-4 ATS overall and 15-18-1 ATS on the road.

The Rockets have lost three straight games and are coming off a 113-104 Sunday loss to the Miami Heat. Houston now returns home after its three-game road trip, a place where it averages 107.4 points on 47.7 percent shooting. On the season, the Rockets average 106.1 points on 47.3 percent shooting and allow 102 points on 44 percent shooting. Houston is 33-31-2 ATS overall and 17-14-2 ATS on its home court.
The Jazz are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Rockets are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below 40 percent. The Jazz are 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Houston.
With both teams coming off a back-to-back, it’s reasonable to expect both teams to come out a little bit sluggish, especially the Rockets, who just lost a hard fought game against Miami. The Jazz haven’t played the greatest basketball in the world, but they are getting better offensive production recently.
Double digits just seems a bit too high for two tired teams that just played Sunday.
