The Washington Wizards and the Sacramento Kings duke it out at the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday night.

The Washington Wizards have been in a real funk lately as they’ve lost five of their past six games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting stopped by the Nuggets in a 113-107 road loss on Monday. Davis Bertans led the team with 21 points on eight of 13 shooting, Bradley Beal added 19 points with 10 assists while Aaron Holiday chipped in with 18 points on six of eight shooting off the bench. As a team, the Wizards shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they struggled right from the start and fell behind by 18 points and things only got worse in the third quarter where they fell behind by as many as 33 points. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored just 13 points on five of 16 shooting while Deni Avdija scored just four points on two of seven shooting.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings have been in a slump of their own as they’ve lost five of their past eight games and they will be hoping to put an end to a three-game skid after getting thrashed by the Raptors in a 124-101 road loss on Monday. De’Aaron Fox led the team with29 points on 11 of 20 shooting, Buddy Hield added 14 points off the bench while Alex Len and Marvin Bagley each scored 12 points. As a team, the Kings shot 40 percent from the field and 11 of 34 from the 3-point line as they scored just 22 points in the first quarter, before allowing 40 points in the second quarter to fall behind by as many as 31 points. Harrison Barnes had a terrible night as he finished with just three points on one of nine shooting before getting benched after 22 minutes.

Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record, 0-4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 0-5-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The Kings are 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record, 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a loss of more than 10 points and 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 7-1 in the last eight meetings overall and the Wizards are 2-5-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Sacramento.

Rui Hachimura is still out while Kyle Kuzma is listed as questionable, so the Wizards are still shorthanded in this one, while the Kings are only without Richaun Holmes. It’s hard to pick a favorite in this matchup as both teams have really been struggling lately which is why the line is so short, but the Wizards are banged up, they are only 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record and they are 2-5-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Sacramento. That’s not much to go with, but I’m leaning towards the Kings to get the much-needed win and cover at home in a close one.
