The Minnesota Timberwolves head to Houston on Thursday to face off against the Rockets.
The Houston Rockets are currently sitting at 45-22 this season, and even in the competitive West, the Rockets have nearly assured themselves of a playoff spot. Houston is currently in the fourth spot in the West rankings, and while nothing has been secured, the Rockets are without a doubt one of the better teams in the league this season, and I just don’t see them falling apart this late in the game. The Rockets have struggled as of late however, dropping three out of their last four. Houston got back into the win column in their last outing, and now have another very winnable game here at home against the Timberwolves.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are above the .500 mark this season, having a record of 34-32 on the year. Minnesota has an outstanding offense, led by All Star Kevin Love, who is scoring an impressive 26.4 points per game this season. The Timberwolves have won three out of the last four heading into this meeting, with their latest win coming on Wednesday night against the Mavs, in overtime on the road at Dallas. Minnesota is still in the hunt for a playoff berth, but currently the Timberwolves trail the Mavs by five and half games for the final playoff position.
Minnesota is just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games when playing on no rest, and Minnesota is 0-4 against the spread in their last four games overall.
The Rockets are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and Houston is 0-4 against the spread in their last four games against a team with a winning record.
Have to back the Rockets here. The Timberwolves could use the win more, but this is a tough spot. Minnesota isn't playing all that well right now, especially on little rest. The Rockets finally etched another win last time out, and now getting Minnesota at home, this team should be primed to make it two in a row.
TImberwoles keep it close for awhile, but the Rockets are too strong and pull away late for the cover.
