The Phoenix Suns and the Minnesota Timberwolves duke it out at the Target Center on Friday night in NBA action.

The Phoenix Suns have been in a major slump as they’ve lost 10 of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting thrashed by the Nuggets in a 126-97 road loss on Wednesday. Torrey Craig led the team with 16 points on six of six shooting, Josh Okogie added 14 points with nine rebounds and five assists while Dario Saric and Damion Lee each scored 11 points. As a team, the Suns shot just 43 percent from the field and nine of 32 from the 3-point line, but they were playing their second game of a back to back set and it looked like it as they got off to a slow start and never looked threatening against the red-hot Nuggets who dominated from start to finish.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves were on a nice run of four wins in a row before they got stopped in their tracks by the Pistons in a 135-118 road loss on Wednesday. Anthony Edwards led the team with 20 points and six assists, D’Angelo Russell added 19 points with five assists while Rudy Gobert chipped in with 16 points and 14 rebounds. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 48 percent from the field and 16 of 33 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Pistons in a tightly contested first half, but they kept turning the ball over and it cost them as the Pistons poured in 70 points in the second half to blow them away in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Suns are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss of more than 10 points and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Timberwolves are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the Suns are 6-1-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Minnesota and the Suns are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings overall.

The Suns are again missing Devin Booker, Chris Paul, Cam Johnson and Landry Shamet, while DeAndre Ayton is listed as questionable. The Timberwolves have listed Kyle Anderson, Taurean Prince and Anthony Edwards as questionable and they are still missing Karl-Anthony Towns. The Suns own the edge in betting trends as they are 6-1-1 ATS in the last eight meetings overall, but they are just so banged up at the moment and they are still mired in their worst slump of the season. The Timberwolves were embarrassed by the Pistons in their last outing, but I think they come out swinging and take advantage of this shorthanded Suns lineup.
