The Line: Washington Wizards -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Atlanta Hawks take a trip to the nation's capital to battle the Washington Wizards tonight.
The Hawks' playoff hopes took another hit on Thursday when they lost by 100-85 to the Trailblazers for their fifth straight loss. Jeff Teague led the way with 22 points on 10 of 18 shooting while Louis Williams added 16 points off the bench, but the rest of the team really struggled from the field, especially Paul Millsap who had just 10 points on three of 15 shooting. Also, it didn't help that LaMarcus Aldridge made his return from a seven-game absence to pour in 25 points and 16 rebounds, but the bottom line is that the Hawks' struggles began when Kyle Korver hurt his back. With the loss, Atlanta falls to just 1 1/2 games clear of New York who have been surging to overtake them for the last spot in the East.

Meanwhile, the Wizards have lost six of their last nine games and four of their last five after falling to the Suns by 99-93 on Wednesday. John Wall scored 24 of his 29 points in the second half as the Wizards cut a 25-point deficit to just three, before the Suns made the crucial plays down the stretch to thwart the comeback attempt. Marcin Gortat added 17 points and Trevor Ariza had 14, but the Wizards needed much more from Bradley Beal who had just eight points and didn't make a three-pointer. Defensively, the Wizards just didn't have an answer for the dynamic duo of Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic who combined for 48 points and six three-pointers to match the Wizards' total as a team. With the loss, Washington continues their descent towards the deadly seventh seed in the East which would have them match up with Miami in the first round.
In ATS trends, the Hawks are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 road games and 5-20-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall, while the Wizards are 6-15-1 ATS in their last 22 home games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the Hawks are 0-6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings overall and 0-4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Washington.
Given the overwhelming trends towards the Wizards, that is where I am leaning but I will wait for the odds.
All signs are pointing to a win and cover for the Wizards tonight, so that's definitely where I'm going.
