The Phoenix Suns paya visit to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday night.

The Phoenix Suns have been in a bit of a rut as they’ve lost four of their last five games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up short against the Thunder in a 124-120 road loss on Sunday. Devin Booker led the team with 46 points on 18 of 28 shooting, Chris Paul added 14 points with 13 assists while Terrence Ross chipped in with 12 points off the bench. As a team, the Suns shot 47 percent from the field and 15 of 36 from the 3-point line as they poured in 69 points in the first half to build a 15-point lead, but they never put the Thunder away and it cost them as the Thunder went on a ferocious 23-4 run in the fourth quarter to snatch the game away from them in the end.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last eight games overall and they will be looking to maintain their momentum after taking down the Magic in a 111-105 win on Sunday. Austin Reaves led the team with 35 points, six rebounds and six assists on nine of 14 shooting off the bench, D’Angelo Russell added 18 points with six assists while Anthony Davis chipped in with 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks. As a team, the Lakers shot 46 percent from the field and 13 of 32 from the 3-point line as they controlled the first half to build a 16-point lead, but they allowed the Magic to hang around and had to close the final 57 seconds on a pivotal 8-2 run to escape with the narrow victory.

Looking at the betting trends, the Suns are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall. The Lakers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games playing on two days rest and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the under is 8-3-1 in the last 12 meetings overall, the Suns are 8-1 ATS in the last nine meetings overall and the Suns are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Los Angeles.

The Suns are shorthanded once again as Kevin Durant and Deandre Ayton are both out, while the Lakers are still missing LeBron James. The Suns have gone off the boil over their past five games or so and they will be kicking themselves after dropping a winnable game against the Thunder on Sunday. The Lakers have continued to play some of their best basketball of the season without James in the lineup and they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their gritty win over the Magic in their last outing. It’s hard to split these two squads at the moment, but the Lakers are in better form and they could have a major advantage in the paint if the Suns’ Ayton isn’t able to suit up. This should be a close contest, but I will be sticking with the Lakers to get the minor upset at home.
