The Indiana Pacers and the Detroit pistons face off on Wednesday in a NBA matchup on what is a huge day of NBA basketball action.
The Indiana Pacers have clinched a spot in the playoffs in the Eastern Conference and while they have staggered of late they trail the Heat for the top playoff spot in the conference by percentage points. The Pacers have lost their last three games, are 4-6 in their last 10, and they are 33-5 at home this season. Paul George leads Indiana averaging 21.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Lance Stephenson is averaging 14.1 points and 7.3 rebounds, David West is averaging 13.7 points and 6.8 rebounds, and Roy Hibbert is averaging 11.2 points and 6.9 rebounds. The Pacers are averaging 96.8 points and they are shooting 44.7 percent and 35.1 percent beyond the three-point arc while defensively they are allowing 91.8 points and their opponents are shooting 41.8 percent. With just a few games left Indiana has plenty to play for.

The Detroit Pistons bounced back from their embarrassing loss to the 76ers but it is clear this is a team that has some work to do. The Pistons are 11-24 on the road this season and they are 2-8 in their last 10 games. Josh Smith leads Detroit averaging 16.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Brandon Jennings is averaging 15.8 points and 7.8 assists, Greg Monroe is averaging 15.1 points and 9.2 rebounds, and Rodney Stuckey is averaging 13.2 points. Detroit is averaging 100.7 points and they are shooting 44.8 percent including 31.8 percent from beyond the three-point arc while defensively they are allowing 104.1 points and their opponents are shooting 46.8 percent. The Pistons should get some help in the upcoming NBA Draft.
Indiana is 2-5 against the spread against the NBA Central, 4-22-1 against the spread in their last 27 games, and 0-4 against the spread at home against a team with a losing road record. Detroit is 2-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 0-5 against the spread following a win, and 0-4 against the spread in their last four games. The road team has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
The Pacers are the better team and at this point they have to be hungrier as well so I am going to lay the points here but the big number prevents this from being a Premium Pick.
