The Utah Jazz play host to the New Orleans Pelicans at the Vivint Arena on Friday night.

The New Orleans Pelicans have struggled all season, but they’re starting to turn things around with three wins in their last seven games and they will be eager to build some momentum after blowing past the Wizards in a 127-102 home win on Wednesday. Brandon Ingram led the team with 26 points on nine of 15 shooting, Jonas Valanciunas added 21 points with 11 rebounds and four assists while Josh Hart chipped in with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Pelicans shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line as they jumped all over the Wizards early and poured on 72 points in the first half to take the early double-digit lead, before making another run in the fourth quarter to make it a complete blowout.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been in decent shape as they’ve won four of their past five games and they will be looking to stay hot after outlasting the Thunder in a 110-104 road win on Wednesday. Jordan Clarkson led the team with 20 points and five assists off the bench, Bojan Bogdanovic added 19 points, Mike Conley scored 18 points while Rudy Gobert chipped in with 15 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks. As a team, the Jazz shot 45 percent from the field and 15 of 47 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the first half, before taking the lead with 32 points in the third quarter. It wasn’t easy, but the Jazz closed the game on a 9-3 run in the final 2:14 to escape with the narrow win.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pelicans are 0-7 ATS in their last seven road games, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The Jazz are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 1-8 ATS in their last nine home games against a team with a losing road record.

Head to head, the over is 21-7 in the last 28 meetings overall, the Pelicans are 2-5-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in Utah and the Pelicans are 5-12-1 ATS in the last 18 meetings overall.

The Pelicans have really struggled all season, so their upset win over the Wizards on Wednesday came as a big shock and I just don’t see them challenging the Jazz who are always so tough to beat at home. The Jazz were far from convincing in their narrow win over the Thunder, but the Pelicans are 0-7 ATS in their last seven road games and I think that trend continues here as the Jazz roll at home.
