The Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets will meet up for the second time this season on Sunday night. The Rockets won the first meeting back in November, 122-111.
The Denver Nuggets have lost six of their last eight games and are probably better off losing the rest of the way to end up with a few more ping pong balls. On the season, the Nuggets average 103.9 points on 44.8 percent shooting and allow 106.1 points on 45.6 percent shooting. The Nuggets defense has been their downfall all year, as they’re allowing teams to shoot 41.1 percent from three in their last five games. The Nuggets have also allowed nine of their last 10 opponents to top 100 points. The Denver Nuggets are 36-40 ATS overall and 19-19 ATS on the road.

The Rockets hope to wrap up the fourth seed in the Western Conference and earn home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. On the season, the Rockets average 106.8 points on 47.3 percent shooting and allow 102.1 points on 44 percent shooting. Dwight Howard remains doubtful for this matchup, as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. Still, the Rockets have won six of their last nine games and James Harden is averaging 29.8 points in his last five. The Houston Rockets are 38-35-2 ATS overall and 21-15-2 ATS at home.
The Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Rockets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest. The Nuggets are 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings and 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Houston.
While the Rockets should win, getting double digits is just too high for my taste. The Nuggets have been getting the job done against the number lately and should be able to keep things close against a Houston team that can be shaky on the defensive end.
