The Sacramento Kings and the Oklahoma City Thunder face off on Tuesday in NBA action.
The Sacramento Kings don’t have much to play for at this point except the individual players auditioning for jobs with the Kings or elsewhere next season. The Kings are 16-28 at home this season and 4-6 in their last 10 games. DeMarcus Cousins is averaging 22.3 points and 11.6 rebounds per game to lead Sacramento, Isaiah Thomas is averaging 20.7 points and 6.4 assists, Rudy Gay is averaging 20.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, and Derrick Williams is averaging 8.7 points. As a team the Kings are averaging 100.6 points and they are shooting 44.8 percent including 33.4 percent from beyond the three-point arc while defensively they are allowing 103.2 points and their opponents are shooting 46 percent. The Kings have lost to the Thunder three times already this season.
USA TODAY Sports
The Oklahoma City Thunder sit in second place in the NBA Western Conference playoff standings at 4.5 games behind the San Antonio Spurs but just a game ahead of the LA Clippers. The Thunder are 7-3 in their last 10 games though they have lost their last two. Kevin Durant s putting up MVP type numbers leading OKC with 32.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game, Russell Westbrook is averaging 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.9 assists, and Serge Ibaka is averaging 15.1 points and 8.7 rebounds. The Thunder are averaging 1-6.3 points and they are shooting 47.3 percent including 36.5 percent from beyond the three-point arc while defensively they are allowing 99.8 points and their opponents are shooting 43.5 percent. Oklahoma City has been playing much of the season without Westbrook and we may see them take it to a new level in the playoffs.
Sacramento is 7-0-1 against the spread following a loss, 12-4 against the spread at home against a team with a winning road record, and 5-2-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Oklahoma City is 3-1-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 0-5 against the spread in their last five road games, and 15-6-1 against the spread playing with one days rest. The road team is 5-2-1 against the spread in the last eight meetings of these two.
With the total around 204 my free pick is solidly on the over.
I also have a play on the winner against the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
