The Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder face off on Sunday at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse for what could be an NBA Finals preview.
The Indiana Pacers have been sputtering towards the close of the season but with a high profile game like this they can only hope it awakens the team we saw earlier this season. The Pacers are 3-7 in their last 10 games, 34-6 at home this season, and they are just a half of a game behind the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. Paul George leads the Pacers averaging 21.7 points and 6.7 rebounds, David West is averaging 13.9 points and 6.8 rebounds, and Lance Stephenson is averaging 13.8 points and 7.1 rebounds. As a team the Pacers are averaging 96.6 points and they are shooting 44.8 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 92.4 points and their opponents are shooting 42 percent. The Pacers have gotten it done with defense and they will need a big effort on both ends of the court in this spot.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been rolling all season and they look to be heading into the playoffs with a full head of steam. The Thunder are 7-3 in their last 10 games, have all but wrapped up the number two seed in the Western Conference playoff standings, and they have won their last three games. Kevin Durant is having an MVP type season averaging 31.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists, Russell Westbrook is averaging 21.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 6.9 assists, and Serge Ibaka is averaging 15.2 points and 8.6 rebounds. As a team the Thunder are averaging 106.4 points and they are shooting 47.3 percent while defensively they are allowing 99.6 points and their opponents are shooting 43.4 percent. The Thunder are thinking this is their year to win it all.
Indiana is 3-12-1 against the spread following a loss, 0-4 against the spread in their last four home games, and 3-13 against the spread against the Western Conference. Oklahoma City is 4-1 against the spread following a win, 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 home games, 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record. The home team has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
The Pacers need this one a lot more but the Thunder are just the better team.
