The Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks face off on Wednesday as they close out their 2013-2014 NBA seasons.
The Milwaukee Bucks will finish this season with the worst record in the NBA and will have the highest chance of getting the first overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft which appears to be one of the deepest and best in history. The Bucks fans have paid the price this year as Milwaukee is 10-30 at home and 2-8 in their last 10 games. Brandon Knight leads the Bucks averaging 17.7 points, Khris Middleton is averaging 12 points, and O.J. Mayo is averaging 11.7 points but more than likely won’t be playing in this one. As a team the Bucks are averaging 95.4 points and they are shooting 43.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 103.6 points and their opponents are shooting 46.7 percent. The Bucks are hoping to put this season in the past as soon as the buzzer sounds.

The Atlanta Hawks were the final team to make the NBA playoffs in the Eastern Conference and they are the only team to make the playoffs with a losing record. The Hawks are 13-27 on the road this season, 6-4 in their last 10 games, and are coming off of a loss. Paul Milsap is Atlanta’s leading scorer averaging 17.9 points and 8.5 rebounds, Jeff Teague is averaging 16.6 points and 6.7 assists, and Kyle Korver is averaging 12 points. The Hawks are averaging 100.9 points and they are shooting 45.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 101.5 points and their opponents are shooting 46.2 percent. With little at stake for the Hawks here it will be interesting to see their interest level.
Milwaukee is 3-7-1 against the spread against the Eastern Conference, 0-4 against the spread against the NBA Southeast, and 5-2 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Atlanta is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games, 5-11-1 against the spread in their last 17 road games, and 4-10 against the spread in their last 14 games against the spread against a team with a losing record. The road team has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
The Hawks simply have nothing to play for and one of the better plays of the night is the Bucks in this spot.
