The Los Angeles Clippers travel to the Moda Center to do battle with the Portland Trail Blaezrs on Sunday night.

The Los Angeles Clippers were on a nice run of four wins on the trot before they got stopped in their tracks by the Magic in a 113-108 loss last night. Paul George led the way with 30 points on 12 of 25 shooting, Ivica Zubac added 16 points with 16 rebounds and two blocks while Russell Westbrook chipped in with 14 points and nine assists. As a team, the Clippers shot 46 percent from the field and six of 22 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control when they held the Magic to just 17 points in the third quarter to take the lead, only to allow the Magic to explode for 39 points in the fourth quarter to slip away in the end.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been in a real slump as they’ve lost eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a five-game slide after getting routed by the Celtics in a 126-112 loss on Friday. Damian Lillard led the team with 41 points and five assists on 12 of 23 shooting, Anfernee Simons added 17 points while Trendon Watford tallied 10 points with eight rebounds and eight assists. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 38 from the 3-point line, but they struggled to contain the Celtics from the start and were always fighting an uphill battle after allowing the Celtics to shoot out to an early double-digit lead.

Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Trail Blazers are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 home games, 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the Clippers are 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.

The Clippers are going to be shorthanded once again as Brandon Boston Jr and Norman Powell are still out, but they should have Kawhi Leonard back in the lineup after he was rested last night.  The Trail Blazers are still shorthanded as Jerami Grant is out and Nassir Little is listed as questionable, so it’s hard to have too much confidence in the Trail Blazers who are barely winning games despite big games from Lillard on a nightly basis. The Clippers will be kicking themselves after dropping a winnable game last night, but I think they bounce back here with Leonard back on the court.
