The San Antonio Spurs finished the season with the best record in the NBA and have the home court advantage throughout the playoffs. The Spurs are 32-9 at home, 38-14 against the Western Conference, and 6-4 in their last 10 games. Tony Parker leads San Antonio averaging 16.7 points and 5.7 assists, Tim Duncan averages 15.1 points and 9.7 rebounds, and Kawhi Leonard is averaging 12.8 points and 6.2 rebounds. As a team the Spurs are averaging 105.4 points and they are shooting 48.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 97.6 points and their opponents are shooting 44.4 percent. The Spurs have had few issues matching up against the Mavs in recent years.
Dallas is 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 Conference Quarterfinal games, 39-14 against the spread following a loss, and 47-19 against the spread in their last 66 road games. San Antonio is 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 home games, 15-5 against the spread in their last 20 games, and 18-8 following a loss. The road team has covered the point spread in six of the last seven meetings of these two.
With the total set at 205.5 my first take would be the over but with two veteran playoff savvy teams I expect defense to play a big role and I like the Under.
My stronger play is on who will cover the point spread and I will post that pick in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
