NBA Draft: June 26, 2014
USA TODAY Sports
2013-14 Season: 16.4 PPG-9.7 RPG-3.2 APG (28 games in Adriatic League)
Strengths: Described as a point forward because of his size and superior ball handling skills. Good decision maker and passer makes him tough to guard in transition. Solid rebounder who can bring the ball up court or distribute with his height giving him a clear view of the court. Good positioning at both ends of the floor says he has a high basketball IQ.
Weakness: Saric lacks foot speed and is not as athletic as the players he will see at the next level which makes him a question mark defending faster opponents. Needs to be stronger to play inside and develop a more consistent shot. Range is limited and he is turnover prone with almost three per game while getting his shot off versus NBA quality athletes will be an issue.
Projection: Saric's skillset is intriguing because he does a little bit of everything but the question to be answered is whether he will be able to accomplish everything against the bigger athletes in the NBA. His versatility makes him a first round pick but he might again bypass the draft to play in Europe.
