The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies face off for game three of their NBA Playoff series as the series moves to Memphis.
The Oklahoma City Thunder came out like gangbusters in game one of the series at OKC but in game two they were playing or trying to play catch-up all night long before eventually falling in OT. All season the Thunder have been focused in on one thing, winning the NBA Championship but it is cleat they have their hands full in this first round match up. Kevin Durant had 36 points and 11 rebounds in the game 2 loss while Russell Westbrook had 29 points and eight rebounds and Serge Ibaka had 15 points and 11 rebounds. As a team the Thunder shot just 39.8 percent from the floor and that just didn’t get it done and despite their last second heroics Oklahoma City were unable to carry the momentum to overtime and lost after trailing for the entire OT period.

After starting very slowly in game one the Memphis Grizzlies got out of the gate quick in game two as they needed every bit of effort. The Grizzlies nearly let game two get away from them but they rallied in overtime to get the win. Zach Randolph led the way with 25 points, Mike Conley had 19 points and 12 assists, and Courtney Lee and Marc Gasol each had 16 points in what was a true team effort. Memphis shot the lights out at 49.4 percent and they hot four of 10 shots from beyond the three-point arc.
Memphis beat the Thunder just once during the regular season and that was a three-point win at home in January but in this series they looked like an even match.
While generally laying points on the road isn’t a great idea, I expect the Thunder to come out strong and if need be I see Durant taking over this game and putting up a career type number if that’s what it takes for him to will his team to win and with the light number I like the Thunder to cover.
