The Miami Heat and Charlotte Bobcats will take the court Saturday night for game three of the NBA playoffs.
The Heat took to a 2-0 lead with a 100-97 victory on Wednesday. The Heat have now beaten the Bobcats 18 straight times, which includes 17 straight since LeBron James came to Miami. The Heat could still improve defensively, as they’re allowing 99.4 points on 48.6 percent shooting in their last five games. However, James and company appear to be in full playoff mode on the offensive end, as the King has scored 59 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the first two games of this series. One player who has got going yet for the Heat is Ray Allen, who has scored just two points in the first two games. The Miami Heat are 38-44-2 ATS overall and 19-21-1 ATS on the road.
USA TODAY Sports
The Bobcats have themselves a chance to win game two by shooting 42 percent from the field and forcing 17 turnovers. The Bobcats simply lack the offensive firepower to keep up, especially with a hobbled Al Jefferson, who did manage to grab 13 rebounds and score 18 points in the game two loss. Kemba Walker has been the star so far for the Bobcats, racking up 36 points and 14 assists in the series. However, due to the lack of offense, the Bobcats are 2-11 SU in their last 13 games when allowing 100 or more points. At home, Charlotte holds teams to 94.3 points on 45.4 percent shooting. The Charlotte Bobcats are 48-33-3 ATS overall and 24-16-1 ATS at home.
The Heat are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Bobcats are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 2 days rest and 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 home games. The Heat are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Charlotte.
While the Bobcats have shown they can fight and aren’t willing to go down quietly, they’re simply in over their heads in this matchup. The Heat haven’t played great in this series yet, but still give you that feeling that Charlotte has no chance.
That’s why I’ll take the Heat and the small chalk.
I also have a play on the total and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
