The Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs will play game one of the second round of the playoffs on Tuesday. The two teams split the regular season series at two games apiece.
The Trail Blazers sent the Houston Rockets home in six games and are looking like a very dangerous team entering this series. Against the Rockets, the Trail Blazers averaged 109.6 points on 45.8 percent shooting and allowed 110.4 points on 45.4 percent shooting. The Trail Blazers two star players have really carried the team, as LaMarcus Aldridge averaged 29.8 points and Damian Lillard shot 48.9 percent from downtown, which included the game-winning three in game six. The Trail Blazers are 20-4 SU in their last 24 games when scoring at least 100 points. The Portland Trail Blazers are also 46-42 ATS overall and 27-17 ATS on the road.

The Spurs needed seven games to send the Dallas Mavericks packing, but they looked terrific in game seven, as they shot 56.8 percent from the field. In the series overall, the Spurs averaged 108 points on 51 percent shooting and allowed 102 points on 45.1 percent shooting. Tony Parker scored 22 or more points in the last three games and shot 47.2 percent, while Tim Duncan shot 58 percent from the field. The Spurs are 35-10 SU at home this season and shoot a lights out 41.8 percent from beyond the arc in front of their home fans. The San Antonio Spurs are also 46-43 ATS overall and 21-24 ATS at home.
The Trail Blazers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Spurs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games following a ATS win. The underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
Much like the Mavs series, I see this one being a close and tough matchup for the Spurs. I also think the Trail Blazers have a chance to advance if their stars continue to play at a high level. With that said, Portland is getting too many points. The Trail Blazers match up well with the Spurs and have had a few more days of rest and preparation for this game.
Give me the Trail Blazers and the points.
