The Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder will meet Tuesday night for a critical game five with the series tied at 2-2.
The Clippers were able to overcome a 22-point deficit to win game four, 101-99. The Clippers are 16-1 SU in their last 17 games when allowing less than 100 points. What’s surprising is that the Clippers shot only 14.3 percent from three and three of their starters scored in the single digits. In the Clippers last five games, they’re averaging 112.4 points on 48.2 percent shooting and allowing 111 points on 49.1 percent shooting. Chris Paul continues to lead the way for the Clippers, as he’s shooting 54.5 percent from the field and averaging just 1.5 turnovers in this series. Blake Griffin has scored above 20 points in three of the four games and is shooting 81.6 percent from the free throw line. The Los Angeles Clippers are 49-43-1 ATS overall and 26-19-1 ATS on the road.

The Thunder wasted a 40-point effort from Kevin Durant in the game four loss. Durant and Russell Westbrook continue to carry the load for the Thunder, as they combined for 67 points in the loss and Reggie Jackson was the third leading scorer with 10 points. The Thunder are 3-7 SU in their last 10 games when failing to score 100 or more points. In the Thunder’s last five games, they’re averaging 110.8 points on 51.1 percent shooting and allowing 109 points on 46.1 percent shooting. The Thunder are getting just 25.2 points from their bench during that stretch, which is about a five point decrease from the league average. Derek Fisher, who usually provided a spark off the bench, is shooting 27.8 percent from the field throughout the playoffs. The Oklahoma City Thunder are 49-41-3 ATS overall and 26-19-2 ATS at home.
The Clippers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Thunder are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 11-5-2 ATS in their last 18 home games. The Clippers are 14-6 ATS in the last 20 meetings in Oklahoma City.
The Thunder gave game four away, which not only makes game five a difficult one for OKC, but it gives the Clippers a much needed boost. The Clippers might as well have won a game and a half with that victory.
That’s why I’m going to take the Clippers ML in this game, as all of the momentum is with them at the moment. I think game four is hard to come back from, and you can expect LA to take advantage of that meltdown.
Take the Clippers to win SU.
