The series shift to South Beach as the Miami Heat collide with the Indiana Pacers in Game 3 on Saturday night.
Head to head, the home team is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The Heat are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. NBA Central, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 3 or more days rest. The Pacers on the other hand are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 games playing on 3 or more days rest, but just 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I feel like this series is right where it should be at one game apeice. While Indiana's big win in Game 1 (even though it was only technicially a 10-point victory in the end) was pretty surprising, the result in Game 2 went pretty much how would of thought with the Heat hanging on for a tough fought 87-83 win on Tuesday night. Having said that, it was the first time the home team has lost in their last 10 meetings.
So what can we expect for Game 3? Well, the Pacers did take the first game in Miami in last seasons playoffs, although that was a totally different situation and Game 1 instead of Game 3. The big news coming into Saturday's night game will be the health of Indiana's Paul George who suffered a concussion in their Game 2 loss on Tuesday night. It is still unclear if George will take the court in Game 3.
Although the Pacers have won five of six on the road in postseason play, the uncertainty over George must be a worry. While I do think he will take the court on Saturday night, I still like the Heat to cover the spread, but just. Miami has won four straight at home over Indi by an average of 12 points per contest and I just think they will be too strong in-front of their home crowd....
