The Miami Heat look to close out the series in Game 4 on Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers.
Head to head, the Heat are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings while the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Pacers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points, but just 2-10 ATS in their last 12 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and 15-35-1 ATS in their last 51 games overall. The Heat on the other hand are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Conference Finals games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU win of more than 10 points and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
We all know that the Miami Heat are going to advance to the NBA finals one way or another, but is that night tonight? Since their 107-96 loss in Game 1, the Heat have rattled off three straight victories and have looked like the far superior team, winning their two games in Miami both by double-digits. So can they close out of the series tonight or will Indiana live to see another day?
It does bode for Indi considering the home team has won nine of the last 10 meetings straight up and thay have also covered the spread in four of the last five meetings. And it's not like the Pacers couldn't have easily won another game in this series (which would of made it two games apiece) as they were right in Game 2 up until the final minute and they squandered a 15-point lead early in Game 3.
You can make a pretty compelling agrugment for both teams here, but I'm taking the Pacers and the points in this one. Given the fact that the home team nearly always wins when these two teams meet and considering that Indiana will be playing for their playoff lives, I think they have what it takes to take this one too a Game 6 in Miami.
I wouldn't wager any this game myself, because this is probably the toughest games to cap in this series so far..
