The NBA Free Agency 2014 can magnify or deplete teams. Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony are the biggest names that can totally alter the situation of their teams. They already made their choices.

James bolting out of Miami is the biggest story of the 2014 Free Agency. Nobody had predicted that James would go back to the Cavs, who ridiculed and hated him in 2010. If the Cavs are winners in this year's free agency, the immediate losers are:

Losers in the NBA Free Agency 2014

Losers

1. Miami Heat

Losing the best player in the world is a sting to Miami Heat as an organization. It's like a trade happened, sending James to the Cavs in exchange for Luol Deng, who was in Cleveland in January. The chance to be back in the NBA Finals looks dark for the Heat without James in the roster. With Chris Bosh and a healthy Dwayne Wade, the Heat is still a playoff team but not a championship contender. It’s hard to fathom the Heat in the NBA Finals with the current players.

2. Houston Rockets

The Rockets dream of landing Bosh to magnify the roster had failed. They even let go two of the core players, Chandler Parsons and Jeremy Lin. Omer Asik and Omri Casspi were traded to New Orleans for Trevor Ariza. The 2014 NBA Free Agency did not make the Rockets stronger.

3. Los Angeles Lakers

Failing to entice Carmelo Anthony and other big free agent names to play with Kobe Bryant is an awful taste for the Laker fans. Moreover, the departure of Pau Gasol aggravated the situation. Lin's inclusion in the roster might be helpful, but the Lakers are not contenders at all in the West. Wait for the next free agency, probably Lakers will rise again. But this season will be a misery.

4. Sacramento Kings

Not the right move for the Kings by letting go Isaiah Thomas Jr to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Darren Collison. Thomas played exceptionally for the Kings averaging 21.1 points per game. But they tried an older and not proven Collison.

5. Pat Riley

Riley used all his persuasive words to lure back James but he was unsuccessful. Four years ago, he looked like a genius in building a super team that won two ring. Now, his magic didn't work and that will cause the Heat to be worse than before.

Honorable Mentions...

Chicago Bulls failed to land Anthony, instead they got Pau Gasol. What if the Bulls landed Anthony? They might be the outright favourites in the Eastern Conference.

New York Knicks allowing Tyson Chandler to depart for the Mavericks. Phil Jackson has to find a true center to run the triangle.
