The Line: Chicago Sky See the Latest Odds
The Chicago Sky and San Antonio Stars take the court Tuesday night on ESPN2. This is the first meeting between the two teams this season.
The Sky have lost seven of their last nine games and will continue to struggle as long as their star player in Elena Delle Donne continues to sit out with a disease. Delle Donne may return this week, but don’t expect her to be active for this game. In the meantime, the Sky have to find scoring production from elsewhere and that hasn’t been easy. The Sky have been held under 70 points in five of their last seven games and are 1-8 when scoring less than 70 points. Overall, the Sky average 76.7 points on 43.2 percent shooting and allow 79.8 points on 42.6 percent shooting.

The Stars haven’t been much better, as they’ve lost five of their last six games and are quickly dropping in the Western Conference. The issue for the Stars continues to be a lack of rebounding and defense. Jayne Appel is the only player averaging more than five rebounds per game, and the Stars have allowed 80 or more points in eight of their last 13 games. The Stars don’t have enough scoring options to overcome the truckload of points they allow each night. Overall, the Stars average 77.5 points on 43.1 percent shooting and allow 80.4 points on 48 percent shooting.
The Sky are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games playing on 1 days rest and 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games overall. The Stars are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
Honestly, I don't like either one of these teams, but I absolutely hate the lack of defense from the Stars. This is a huge game for the Sky, and I think they can do enough to steal a win on the road. However, I'll take the points just to be safe.
