After an off-day yesterday, Team USA will be back out on the court in the World Cup. Additionally, there’s plenty of news going around in this NBA off-season right now, so with that in mind let’s take our daily look around the league and see which players and teams are making headlines.

Durant Deal: We haven’t had the chance to touch on this storyline just yet, so let’s visit with the news of Durant’s new deal with Nike, which occurred over the holiday weekend.
Durant inked a fresh contract with Nike worth up to $300 million this weekend, which was a direct response to Under Armor’s offer from a couple of weeks back. That proposed deal was said to be worth $265 and $285 million.
If all goes well, the Nike-Durant partnership will last another 10 years, and with a lineup of basketball royalty featuring the likes of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, it’s looking like business will be good.
This is great news for Oklahoma City fans, as a move to Under Armor was thought to be another reason for Durant to bolt in free agency after 2015-16--possibly to the Wizards, since he’s a local there.

Terry Deal: Now let’s touch on a deal that began materializing over the weekend. According to sources, the Houston Rockets will be acquiring guard Jason Terry from the Kings in a trade. In exchange, Houston will be sending over a pair of second-round picks, guard Alonzo Gee and another non-guaranteed contract.
Terry began last year in Brooklyn and disappointed with a 4.5 PPG average during his 35 games there. A knee injury kept him sidelined during his time with Sacramento (he went there at the trade deadline).
He does have a pedigree of success, though: Terry was the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in both 2009 and 2011.
