NBA Player Updates 9/24: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
September 24, 2014
It’s been a pretty good week for NBA news so far, and the headlines continue to trickle in ahead of the 2014-15 regular season. With that in mind, let’s take our daily look around the league and see which players are making waves out there. Here’s the latest.
Earlier this week, the Lakers announced the signing of guard Wayne Ellington. He’s been bounced around since June, spending time with four different teams.
Ellington most recently played for the Mavericks but didn’t see much court time. He averaged 3.2 PPG over his 45 appearances in Dallas.

In another signing early this week, the Kings inked guard Ramon Sessions to a deal. He will join up with Nik Stauskas, Ben McLemore, Ray McCallum and Darren Collison in the revamped backcourt.
Sessions was picked up by Milwaukee in the second round of the 2007 NBA draft. He played his college ball in Nevada.
In his NBA tenure, he’s averged 11.7 PPG and 4.7 APG. He was most recently with Charlotte and Milwaukee but has also spent time in Minnesota, Cleveland and L.A. (Lakers).
When you look at the remaining free agent pool, there’s only one name that stands out. That’s guard Eric Bledsoe, and now we’re learning that he might end up back with the Suns.
Phoenix and Bledsoe have reportedly reignited their contract discussions, and today will be a very important day in determining whether he remains with the team or not.
Bledsoe was looking for a max deal in the RFA market--he didn’t get it--and now is reportedly refusing to budge off the $12 million he was offered by Phoenix way back in July. We’ll keep you posted on the situation.
