The Portland Trail Blazers and the Utah Jazz collide at the Vivint Arena on Wednesday night.

The Portland Trail Blazers have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost nine of their last 11 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a six-game slide after getting routed by the Clippers in a 117-102 loss on Sunday. Jusuf Nurkic led the team in scoring with 23 points, 11 rebounds and five assists, Damian Lillard added 21 points with seven rebounds and nine assists while Anfernee Simons chipped in with 16 points and six assists. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 45 percent from the field and six of 29 from the 3-point line as they showed plenty of fight to hang with the Clippers in a tightly contested first half, but that all changed in the second half where the Trail Blazers managed just 47 points to allow the Clippers to run away with it in the end.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz have been on a nice run as they’ve won four of their last five games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after taking down the Kings in a 128-120 win on Monday. Ochai Agbaji led the team with 27 points on eight of 14 shooting, Kelly Olynyk added 19 points with 10 rebounds and eight assists while Kendrick Nunn chipped in with 18 points and 10 assists off the bench. As a team, the Jazz shot 52 percent from the field and 16 of 36 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 40 points in the first quarter to lead by as many as 25 points, before they closed the final 2:41 on a 15-5 run to escape with the narrow win after seeing their lead get erased.

Looking at the betting trends, the Trail Blazers are 3-14 ATS in their last 17 road games against a team with a winning home record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. The Jazz are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games, 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games following a win and 6-0 ATS in their last six games overall.

Head to head, the under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings overall and the Trail Blazers are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall.

The Trail Blazers are shorthanded once again as Jerami Grant and Anfernee Simons are both out, while the Jazz have ruled out Jordan Clarkson and they have Lauri Markkanen listed as questionable. The Trail Blazers have really been struggling lately and they are still shorthanded for this one, so I’m more inclined to lean towards the Jazz who have been able to keep their heads above water despite missing some key players. You couldn’t back either team with much confidence these days, but the Jazz are clearly the team in better form and they are also 6-0 ATS in their last six games overall.
