The Line: See the Latest Odds
The Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks begin their 2014 preseason with a Wednesday matchup at the Resch Center.
The Memphis Grizzlies return pretty much the same team that’s made the playoff the last four seasons, but they hope they can be more effective this season on the offensive end. In order to give the Grizzlies and offensive boost, they added Vince Carter and drafted Jordan Adams out of UCLA who shot 46.7 percent from the field in college. Another player the Grizzlies have to be excited about is rookie Jarnell Stokes out of Tennessee who is a physical player and fits perfectly for what Memphis likes to do on the defensive end. Overall, the Memphis Grizzlies are still going to be a below-average offensive team but will remain one of the better defensive and physical teams in the league with their top two pieces in Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph returning for yet another season.

The Milwaukee Bucks will get their first look at prized rookie Jabari Parker, who has a chance to be a franchise caliber player for the struggling franchise. Other than Parker, the Bucks are open to anybody stepping up and making an impact considering they won just 15 games last season and were at the bottom of the league in points scored and points allowed. The Milwaukee Bucks should have a nice battle at point guard throughout the preseason with Kendall Marshall, Brandon Knight and Jerryd Bayless all fighting for playing time. Johnny O'Bryant is a rookie out of LSU who could surprise some people with his ability to score and rebound the basketball. Overall, the Milwaukee Bucks are a young basketball team (Zaza Pachulia is the only player in his 30s) with a new head coach and are just looking for anything they can build off of moving forward.
Nobody has the slightest clue of what to expect from a young Milwaukee Bucks team. It's a flip of the coin, but you have to take the Memphis Grizziles here until the Bucks show something positive.
