The Line: See the Latest Odds
The Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat will play Tuesday night preseason ball at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
The Atlanta Hawks are 1-1 in the preseason and this will be their second straight road game. The Hawks have shot under 43 percent from the field in both games and are just looking for consistency from some of their key guys. Al Horford is hoping to return before the regular season begins, and it could be sometimes this week and as early as this matchup. Dennis Schroder has been one of the more consistent players for the Hawks, as he’s racked up 22 points in the two games and has seven assists. Rookie Adreian Payne has grabbed 15 rebounds, but he’s just 1-8 from the field. Paul Millsap has played less than 20 minutes in each matchup and will likely has his minutes monitored here as well. The Atlanta Hawks need some of their younger players to step up if this season is going to be a success.

The Miami Heat have lost all three of their preseason games and would love to gain some confidence before the season begins. The Heat, however, are coming off a game where they shot 46.5 percent from the field and knocked down 11 threes. Rookie Shabazz Napier had his first solid game in a Heat uniform, knocking down four of 11 shots for 16 points and dishing out seven assists. James Ennis has been one of the more consistent players in the preseason with 48 points, and he’s nearly a lock to make this team and see significant minutes. Chris Bosh has scored in the double digits in his last two games and Danny Granger is 2-15 in his last two games. The Miami Heat are an experienced group of guys but need a W just to feel good about themselves.
The Miami Heat have to win a preseason game eventually, right? No better time than against the shaky Atlanta Hawks. .
