The Line: See the Latest Odds
The Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets will play Wednesday morning preseason basketball at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
The Detroit Pistons are 2-1 in the preseason and have shown promise throughout the scrimmages to keep fans excited for the upcoming season. One player who continues to shine is Andre Drummond, who has racked up 49 points and 28 rebounds. It’s clear the time spent in FIBA has really helped Drummond mature and become a better and more consistent basketball player. Brandon Jennings has produced 21 assists in the first three games and is taking great care of the basketball, as he hopes to take his game to the next level at the point guard position. Caron Butler has gotten off to a slow start, which includes missing a game and shooting a combined 1-6 from the field in the other two. Butler’s signing could be huge for the Pistons, as he brings some much needed leadership to a young team.

The Charlotte Hornets are 2-1 in the preseason, which includes two wins in a row. Despite having issues offensively still, the Hornets continue to play great defense by holding all three of their opponents well under 45 percent shooting. Al Jefferson seems to be in regular season mode with 41 points in the first three games, while Kemba Walker has filled up the stat sheet across the board and has scored in the double figures in all three games. Lance Stephenson has played in just two of the three contests, but he seems to be more of a distributor early on and is enjoying setting up his teammates. Gary Neal is going to be a big help for the Hornets off the bench, as he’s not shy with the basketball and has already knocked down for threes. The Charlotte Hornets are a team to watch out for this season.
The Charlotte Hornets are on a bit of a roll and are playing great defense, somthing the Pistons don't do much of. Give me the Hornets for the victory.
