The Line: See the Latest Odds
The Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta Hawks play a Monday preseason game at the Philips Arena.
The Charlotte Hornets are 3-3 in preseason play and will play their final road game before the regular season begins. The Hornets are coming off a Sunday loss to the Chicago Bulls where all five of their starters scored in the double digits. Kemba Walker continues to take his game to the next level, as he’s racked up 26 points and 11 assists in his last two preseason games. Al Jefferson has 32 points in his last two preseason games and P.J. Hairston has scored in the double digits in his last two games. Cody Zeller and Bismack Biyombo have both done a solid job on the glass in limited playing time and should be big pieces this season for the Hornets. The Charlotte Hornets are in for a big year if guys can continue to emerge.
USA TODAY Sports
The Atlanta Hawks are 2-3 in preseason play and have lost their last two games. Al Horford continues to work his way into the lineup and is coming off possibly his best performance in which he scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds. Jeff Teague has been a consistent player for Atlanta, scoring 26 points and dishing out 15 assists in his last two games. Kyle Korver has also been heating up from downtown, as he’s connected on 11 threes in his last three games. However, rookie Adreian Payne continues to struggle at both ends of the floor in limited playing time. The Atlanta Hawks still need to find some consistent contributors if they’re going to take that next step in the East this season.
I don't have much faith in the Atlanta Hawks, even in the preseason. Give me the Charlotte Hornets and the points.
