The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors play Saturday night at the ORACLE Arena.
With a close loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers fall to 0-3 on the season. While the record may not be pretty, the Lakers showed great fight in the game against the Clippers and can use that confidence heading into this game. Jordan Hill is coming off a monster game with 23 points and five rebounds, and could be that much needed offensive spark for the Lakers. Jeremy Lin was more aggressive with 17 points and nine assists, and he’ll have to continue that type of performance if LA is going to win. As for Kobe Bryant, he has 52 points and 10 assists in his last two games and is as close to the old Kobe as he’s likely going to get. The Los Angeles Lakers still have plenty of issues to work out but showed major signs of progress in their most recent game.

This will be the first home game for the Golden State Warriors after they beat the Sacramento Kings Wednesday for their season opener. Under head coach Steve Kerr, the Warriors pass the ball a ton, as they shot 44 percent from the field and had 21 assists on 33 made baskets. Stephen Curry led the way with 24 points and Marreese Speights chipped in an impressive 16 points off the bench. Klay Thompson, who just received a contract extension, was 4-14 from the field with six assists. What’s probably the most impressive thing in the victory was the Warriors defense, as they held the Kings to just 30.8 percent shooting and forced 26 turnovers. If the Golden State Warriors can play that type of defense with their elite shooting, they're going to be tough to beat.
The Lakers are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 vs. Western Conference and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games. The Warriors are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Lakers are 2-7 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Golden State.
The Lakers are getting the short end of the stick schedule wise and when you combine that with their shaky defense, you have to like the over in this spot. The over is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings between these two teams and with the way the Warriors shoot the ball, that trend should continue.
