The Utah Jazz will be hosting the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night at the EnergySolutions Arena.
The Utah Jazz are currently sitting just below the .500 mark on the season, with a record of 2-3 on the year. Utah hasn’t had much problem putting up points as of yet, but the Jazz are having trouble keeping the opposition from doing the same. The Jazz are coming off a solid win over the Cavs, defeating Cleveland in dramatic fashion on Tuesday, 102-100. Utah did a nice job of distributing the ball against the Cavs, as Utah had four different players reach double digit points on the night. Favors was outstanding in the game, finishing the night with a double/double with 21 points and 10 boards.

The Dallas Mavericks are sitting just above the mediocre line right now, owning a record of 3-2 on the season. Dallas, once again has one of the top offenses in the league, as the Mavs are averaging better than 106 points per game, putting them at third in the league currently. Like the Jazz however, the Mavs are having trouble stopping the opposition on the other end. Dallas is allowing 105.6 points per game, one of the worst numbers in the league as far as scoring defense goes.
The Dallas Mavericks are 6-2 overall against the Jazz in their last eight meetings.
I’m going to take the Jazz in this spot. The Mavericks haven’t looked good on the defensive end of the court all season, and having to play back to back road games, I question if the Mavs will have their legs under them or not. The Jazz can score with anyone, and getting points at home with Utah looks like the right side here.
