The Golden State Warriors invade the Toyota Center tonight to take on the Houston Rockets.
The Golden State Warriors have started the season on an absolute tear, winning three of their first four games by double digits, including a 121-104 thrashing of the Clippers in their last outing. Stephen Curry poured in 28 points, Draymond Green had 24 and Klay Thompson had 19 as the Warriors jumped all over the Clippers and flew out to a 65-42 halftime lead and cruising the rest of the way. With the dominant victory, Golden State remain as one of the few teams still undefeated but that record will surely be challenged as they play three games in the next four nights.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets also enter this game undefeated with a record of 6-0 and will be full of confidence after dismantling the shorthanded Spurs by 98-81 on Thursday night. Taking advantage of a Spurs team with no Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard dominated with 32 points and 16 rebounds while James Harden added 20 points, but what was really impressive about the Rockets was their defense, forcing the Spurs to miss their first 11 shots and holding them to 34 percent shooting. Sure, there is somewhat of an asterisk next to the Rockets' unbeaten record because of their easy schedule, but if they continue to defend like they showed on Thursday, this team is going to the Western Conference Finals for sure.
In ATS trends, the Warriors are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a win and 7-2 ATS in their last nine road games, while the Rockets are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the Warriors are only 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 2-9 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Houston.
I seriously can't pick a winner out of these two teams. Both teams are undefeated, coming off big wins and looking seriously good on both ends of the floor. I would give the edge to the Warriors here, but the Rockets have a strong record against them, especially at home. Follow my gut? or follow the stats? eenie, meenie.... let's stick with the Warriors.
