The Detroit Pistons will be hosting the Utah Jazz on Sunday at the Palace.
The Detroit Pistons are currently sitting at 2-3 this season, with losses against the Nuggets, the Timberwolves and the Nets, all to begin the season. Since then, the Pistons have rebounded with back to back wins, with their latest victory coming against the Bucks on Friday. Detroit has traditionally played well defensively, and the past couple seasons, the PIstons have gotten away from that. This season, they’re back to it. Detroit is currently ranked seventh in the league defensively, allowing just 95.6 points per game on average. Helping their cause is their rebounding average, which is 6th in the NBA right now, grabbing more than 45 per game.

The Utah Jazz are struggling again this season, as Utah is 2-4 on the year, having dropped their last outing against the Mavs on Friday, 105-82. The Jazz had no answer to Dallas’ offense, as five different Mavs reached double digit points on the night. Leading the scoring for Utah against Dallas was Burks, who finished the night wtih just 14 against the Mavericks. The Jazz can be tricky at home, but right now it’s hard to put a lot of faith in these guys anywhere else.
The Jazz are 3-1 ATS against the Pistons in their last four meetings, and in that span the Jazz are 3-1 overall against the Pistons as well.
The Jazz are hard to back on the road, but I have to do it in this spot. Utah matches up well with the Pistons, and even though they are at home, I just can’t see giving up two possessions with this Detroit team.
